How to Draw People to Your Website - Spreading the Word (Cont.)

Frankly, the vast majority of customers are too busy to implement every suggestion you make in your tips articles. Instead, they will view you as an expert in your field, and more likely hire you to do the work for them. You don’t have to give away your secret formula, just use your imagination. You’ll soon discover that as you are thinking about what to write, you are also continuing to educate yourself in your field – and that’s a good thing!

|
You can also archive your past newsletter articles on your website. By doing so, you build more useful keyword-laden content into your website, which increases your search engine rankings and draws more new customers to your business.

The missing link
|
Many people realize the importance of providing fresh content on their websites, but don’t have the time to develop, write, and edit all the articles themselves. Offer up your articles to other websites for publication on the condition that they provide links back to your website.

Ask them to use descriptive terms (preferably ones that use your most-desired keywords) for the link itself. For example, if you’re in the dog treats business, have the link say “dog treats,” instead of “click here.”

A few more tips on newsletters
|
You can also include coupons & special discount cards in your newsletter to motivate customers to buy. Keep in mind that your newsletter should draw customers in, and not just look like an advertisement. Ask yourself “what is important to them?” and create a subject line & headings
