| Many people don’t realize that each crossword puzzle comes with an underlying theme. Once understood, it helps the puzzler discover the answers to many of the clues. Just like a good tech writer, puzzlers must be able to identify the underlying concepts, take information from various sources, and put it all together into a completed whole. |

| And being a skillful crossword puzzler is not always about using what you already know. “Sometimes you have to do a little research,” said Jackie. “You have to be determined to find the right answers.” |

| Technical communicators take language that's unique to a specific field and translate it into words the intended audience can easily understand. That audience could be a company’s customers, managers, or newly-hired employees. Sometimes the writer must take very complex, technical content (from an engineer or software developer, for example), and translate it into a training program or user manual that speaks to a variety of audiences with a wide range of skills & experience. |
